Apple has introduced the Mac mini, the world’s smallest computer, bringing unmatched power and efficiency to a desktop that fits in the palm of your hand. This compact yet powerful device, featuring Apple’s new M4 chip, redefines what a computer can do with its speed, eco-friendly design, and energy efficiency.

As part of Apple’s expanding tech ecosystem, the Mac mini offers businesses and individuals a powerful tool in a remarkably small form, proving that a big impact can come in small packages.

Power and performance

The new Mac mini offers a choice between two chip options: the M4 and the M4 Pro. The M4 comes with four high-power cores, six efficiency cores, and a 10-core graphics processor, delivering fast speeds for everyday tasks. For those needing more power, the M4 Pro features ten high-power cores, four efficiency cores, and a 20-core graphics processor with enhanced memory speeds.

Compared to older models, the M4 Mac mini delivers up to 1.8 times faster CPU performance and 2.2 times faster graphics processing than the M1 Mac mini. In real-world tests, the M4 Pro Mac mini performs tasks like image upscaling and AI speech-to-text transcription significantly faster.

For complex work, the M4 Pro’s Neural Engine boosts AI capabilities, handling data-intensive tasks like DNA sequencing up to 26 times faster than the Intel Core i7 version.

Connections and display support

The Mac mini includes two USB-C ports and a headphone jack on the front, with three Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, and Ethernet at the back. The M4 model supports up to two 6K displays and one 5K display, while the M4 Pro can handle up to three 6K displays. With ray-tracing technology, it also delivers improved graphics for more detailed visuals.

Environmentally friendly design

Apple has made the new Mac mini its first carbon-neutral computer. Built with over 50% recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminum, gold, and rare earth elements, it reflects Apple’s commitment to sustainability. Apple also sources renewable electricity for its production and has significantly reduced aluminum use by 85%.

AI Power and Enterprise Security

The new Mac mini brings Apple’s AI capabilities to desktops with Apple Intelligence, expected to roll out in Europe by April 2025. Designed for privacy and security, Apple Intelligence supports safe AI operations across all Apple devices, from iPhones to Mac desktops.

With Private Cloud Compute, Apple offers a secure AI option for industries with strict regulations, ensuring that companies can safely explore AI’s potential for productivity and automation.

Apple’s unified ecosystem enables the Mac mini to work seamlessly with iPhones, iPads, and other Macs, providing a flexible, secure, and fast AI experience. This compact device marks Apple’s leadership in the AI PC market, giving businesses a smart choice for tech upgrades that also align with corporate sustainability goals.
