Lay’s has revived Wavy Tzatziki flavored potato chips inspired by the refreshing Greek flavors of yogurt, lemon, dill, garlic, and other unique elements, resulting in a crunchy take on the creamy Mediterranean classic.

America’s potato chip brand launched a series of three new flavored chips for the summer period. Along with the tzatziki flavor it also launched Masala and Honey Butter flavors, inspired by India and Korea, which it says have hit store shelves in the US this month for a limited time. “We are helping fans to experience the tastes of these countries without having to set foot on a plane,” Lay’s said in a press announcement.

Food blogger Snackolator unveiled the brand’s returning product via an Instagram post in July. “Lay’s is bringing Greek Tzatziki chips and I can’t wait to give these a try!” the caption of the social media upload opened, alongside a picture of the bright blue bag design, which featured a flag of Greece, a dove, a flying horse with wings, and cucumber slices.

The beloved Greek dip tzatziki

The beloved tzatziki, the Greek dip, has recently been rated as the second-best dish with cucumber worldwide by TasteAtlas.

As a Guardian food critic once wrote “few things can summon up a holiday like a dish of chilled tzatziki. One sniff of this cucumber and yogurt dip and you feel like you should be barefoot with sand between your toes.”

Tzatziki is made from yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, and numerous herbs and spices such as dill, mint, or parsley. It is usually served as a sauce accompanying many meat dishes, as a simple dip, or an appetizer.
