The National Hellenic Museum (NHM) announced its 2024 Gala on Saturday, September 28 at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Chicago (720 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago).
The festive evening will support NHM’s mission to share Greek history, art, culture and the Greek American story. Each year the Museum’s programs collectively serve thousands of students, members and guests across Chicago, the United States and beyond.
The annual National Hellenic Museum Gala is an opportunity for hundreds of Greek Americans and philhellenes from across the country to gather together for a night of philanthropy celebrating and supporting the lasting and enriching Hellenic legacy.
Last year the Gala raised over $925,000 where NHM Chairman John P. Calamos, Sr. and NHM Gala Chairman Mike Manatos were joined by more than 500 civic and cultural leaders and philhellenes from across the country.
This fundraiser is black tie optional and features a cocktail reception followed by fine dining, a spectacular live auction, music and dancing late into the evening.

Among the current exhibitions is “Legacy, Renewal & Unity: Celebrating 100 Years of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America” created and presented by The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Foundation is an exploration of the first hundred years since the formal organization of the Greek Orthodox Church in America.
Using a captivating blend of artifacts and interactive displays, this exhibition follows the development of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOA) from its founding in 1922 to the present.
The “Gather Together: Chicago Street Photography” is an exhibition by Chicago-based Greek American photographer Diane Alexander White who has photographed Chicago’s community festivals and street parades.
With a particular focus on Greek Independence Day celebrations, the photographs prove a trip down memory lane for anyone familiar with Chicago or its Greek community.
